As hockey players, we know a thing or two about getting back up after being knocked down.

You’d think it would make it easier to deal with life’s high elbow shots. But that takes having the courage to reach out for help when we need it, and the confidence to believe that someone will be there when we do.

The Melbourne Nite Owls, in conjunction with Social Health Australia, have created a wellbeing initiative to help with all that. We’ve recruited and vetted a handful of club members who are willing to make themselves available to any player for any reason. Not to fix. Not to advise. Just to listen.

If you’re going through something — or you’re worried about a teammate who is — reach out.

We’re here at getintouch@socialhealthaustralia.org or 0429 933 391.

Are you with another club?

We’d love to help you set something like this up for your players. Get in touch and let’s talk.
